March 25 sessions to prepare campus for redesign

Web developers, content providers, and anyone interested in the unc.edu redesign are invited to Unc.eduTALK on March 25, from 1 to 4 pm in the Tate-Turner-Kuralt building’s (School of Social Work) main auditorium.  Members of the development team from University Relations and ITS will be on hand with updates as we near a launch date.

We’ll discuss:

•     1 p.m. consistency of design and navigation

•     2 p.m. content management system CarolinaContent

•     3 p.m. improvements in the campus events calendar, standards, and more.

All on campus are welcome to attend.  If you have any questions beforehand, please feel free to post them here as a comment.  If you can’t make it, presentations will be online after the event as soon as possible, and we’ll update them with conversation from the sessions.

Hope to see you there.

What steps are left between now and the redesign going live? I feel like we’ve been waiting forever for this to launch.

Here’s a quick look at what we outlined in yesterday’s sessions: finish coding, train in CarolinaContent (CMS), post the online style guide, finish content creation, load content server, test everything, tweak, test, launch — all while preparing for distribution of the federated designs for campus units wishing to use them. Thanks!
